12 Dad Friendly Tracks Kids Will Like

The Backyardigans.

Everytime we get in the car, the kids want The Backyardigans. When we first started getting them in rotation a few years ago, my wife and I thought they were the greatest. The songs were clever, catchy, and we enjoyed it.

Now? No thanks, Pablo. If they ask for those little creatures, the speakers in the SUV are immediately fired to the back so we don’t have to listen to the songs.

I’m not complaining, though. Having my 5 year old ask for The Backyardigans in the car is much better than him knowing all the inappropriate words to Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Rihanna songs that dominate pop radio. Those tracks are fine for adults, but don’t you squirm a bit when your kid starts belting “whips and chains excite me” from the back seat?

So to meet in the middle, I’ve made a playlist of songs from their favorite movies.

Get the tracks after the jump.
